EIKO MAEDA

After graduating from Joshibi College of Art and Design in Tokyo, Eiko Maeda's artistic career lead her Westward—all the way to Canada, where she trained in ceramics at Montreal's Visual Arts Center. Gaining a wealth of travel experience and international influence for her art, Maeda traveled back to Japan, where she studied under Eiji Murofushi in Fuji. There, she studied Nerikomi, a colored clay technique recognized for its rich patterning, stains, and multi-layer design.

Maeda returned to Canada; this time, to Woodbridge in Ontario, where she is currently based.
