Mike Weber has over fifty years of experience working in clay and is heavily influenced by Japanese wood-firing techniques. His Anagama-style wood-fire kiln, he notes, develops a "fresh" and "individual" quality throughout his works.

"I try to keep taking chances with energy and passion," he says. "Allowing the pieces to ‘become’ while relying on the potential of the natural interaction of the kiln; the shifting, partial cracking, accumulation of natural ash in unexpected ways.”
