TOMOKO TAKAHASHI

I grew up in Hokkaido, surrounded by the magnificent natural beauty of the four seasons. Particularly impressive to me was the moon floating on the snowfield.
It is a quiet, original landscape in my mind.
Later, I encountered ceramics at Okinawa University of Arts.
In graduate school, I was deeply attracted to the pure white of porcelain.
Then I encountered the glittering techniques of Kutani overglaze painting and gold and silver painting.
I began my own research on Kutani overglaze enamels and gold and silver painting.
My works are a blend of the characteristics of porcelain and the unique techniques with the original landscape in my mind.
