EARTH-UTSUWA Ceramic Exhibition at Sara Japanese Pottery

This time, from the Utsuwa Shoken Gallery, of Kamakura, the former capital of Japan, where publisher, Tomoo Shoken, has done numerous interviews and continues to generate multiple volumes of ceramicist, Teppei Ono, work, we celebrate the publication of an archive photo book with a joint exhibition by Sara Japanese Pottery and Sannga Project.
Teppei Ono, spanning the pottery of Bizen, Okinawa, Tokoname, at Tokoname, he studied under Ryouji Koie. In 2010, he paused from viewing the realistic artwork that depicted post-war Japan "present day ceramics", by artist Takashi Murakami, at the Kaikai Kiki Gallery exhibition in Tokyo's Azabu neighborhood. All over Japan, he would have more than ten solo shows, continuing to make "living pottery".
Continuing to make them unaffected and mute. Just the way you would expect from an artisan. However, go too far and you'll see the fury of an artist.

Two concurrent exhibitions at two locations.
In Kochi, living deep in the mountains, where eating and living are highly valued, everyday "making pottery to use for living", this is what he expresses in totality. His ceramics are fired to be strong and relatively heavy, but tender when you pick it up and feels safe. Soil that is dug up from the mountain, wood ash that is used for natural glaze, natural products lend their power to fuel the flames, becoming pottery that is able to hold water. Taking his pottery in your hands, it feels as if you're taking the energy of the soil in your hands.
Undoubtedly, I invite you to experience the world he aims for. I want you to be able to eat rice from his rice bowls, drink tea from his tea cups. There will be a moment when time passing will suddenly change.

今回は、日本の古都「鎌倉」でギャラリーうつわ祥見を営む、パブリッシャー祥見知生（しょうけんともお）が何度となく
取材を重ね、何冊もの本を出し続けている陶芸家「小野哲平」のアーカイブ的フォトブック「TEPPEI ONO」の出版記念の展覧会を
sara japanese potteryとsannga projectにて行います。
小野哲平は備前、沖縄、常滑と焼き物の地を渡り、常滑では鯉江良二に師事。
2010年、戦後日本におけるリアリティのあるアートとしての「現代生活陶芸」に注目したアーティスト村上隆の目に止まり、
東京麻布のカイカイキキギャラリーにて個展。
日本各地で、年に時には１０回以上も個展を開催し、「生活のうつわ」を作り続ける。
朴訥とし、黙々と作り続ける。その様はまるで職人の様であるが、度を超えるその熱量はまさにアーティストである。

の２カ所同時開催である。
高知の山奥で暮らし、食べること、生活することを大事にし、日々「生活で使う器を作る」、それはトータルで彼の表現である。
彼の作るうつわは、実に硬く焼けており、適度に重く、しかし、手に取ると柔らかく、安心感を感じる。
山から掘り起こした土、木の灰などを使った自然釉、自然の産物が炎の力を借りて、陶として結実し、水をためれるうつわになる。
彼の器を手に取ると、土のエネルギーを頂いている気分になる。
是非、彼の目指す世界を感じて欲しい。
できたら、かれの飯椀でご飯を食べ、ゆのみでお茶を飲んで欲しい。時間の流れがふと変わる瞬間がある。
