Picture
Tim Rowan is what I believe to be a true sculptor. Tim studied in Bizen under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. He took the model of an ANAGAMA kiln and shaped to his own desire. He says that he does not like to use a wheel because the creations will become limited in form. The moment you step in to his studio upstate, his world of sculptures begins to spread. From the stone walls around his gate to the firewood piled up in front of the kiln, everything in his life is beautiful and seemingly sculpture like. Born in New York he is the definition of an urban man living in the forest.
