This is a temple in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. During the workshop, while the kiln was cooling, we did a tour a several temple sites.
This is the kiln we fired at Golden Bridge Pottery. I was so worried that the thatch roof would catch fire when the flames were licking out of the kiln.
This is one of the students at the workshop I taught at Golden Bridge Pottery in Pondicherry. The kiln was at peak temperatures and coals were being shoveled on to the pieces in the front of the kiln. Very hot work in a very hot part of the world.
