Kanae Yunome means ''dreams come true'' in Japanese. Kanae Yunome's life as a designer is bearing out the prophecy. Born and raised in Sendai, Japan, Kanae Yunome has found both the West Coast and the East Coast home. Kanae Yunome studied under Marek Cecula at Parsons School of Design while living in NYC, before finally moving out to Montclair NJ to pursue her art.
Traveling throughout the US, Europe and Japan has influenced her works. Kanae Yunome owns and operates Potterywise, whose pieces center around functional artistic beauty. Using her own molds and techniques, she creates designs that have a sense of individuality and are teeming with their own unique charm. Her pieces are perfect for use in everyday life and make great gifts. Her goal is that people smile whenever they pick up one of her pieces, she desires to breathe life into perfunctory objects by granting splendid individuality to each and every one.
