UKO MORITA's ceramics are built upon the ancient Japanese tradition using own aesthetics and contemporary techniques. Each one of the pieces individually crafted by UKO in his studio in Westhampton.
His works have been represented at Philadelphia Museum of Art and Smithsonian Institutions, Washington D.C. Morikami Museum, Florida, Various solo exhibitions have been seen held at gallaries in New York, Tokyo and across the United States.
Also commissioned by the first lady, Hillary Clinton, one of his pieces was registered as a part of the Christmas collection of the White House.
He was professor of Visual Arts at Purchase College, State University of New York from 1986~2003.
